Journal Entries

[I have transcribed the journal as close to the original handwriting as possible. Asterisks (*) and plus signs (+) are inserted identical to the text. I underlined and CAPITALIZED words found in the writing. Slight mistakes in spelling or hand-writing have been corrected. Green Highlights (life-changing or guidance related) or Yellow highlights (significant or insightful) indicate significant desires, commitments or events of note or easily identifiable for my memoirs.]

You will notice that beside each date in the journal stand two numbers. The first measures how many days I've lived on earth up to that particular date (including leap years). The second number represents how many days I might live based on an 85-year lifespan (about 31,000 days). I chose 85 based on heredity factors. This perspective is based on Psalm 90:12 - "Teach us to number our days that we might apply our hearts to wisdom." I want to look at the diminishing hourglass every day, not waste time, and remember: "One small life will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."
